Who Am I?

I am a husband, father, and teacher who is always growing and learning.

I am a believer in Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior of humanity.

I am a gamer, a reader, and a writer. I love to consume fiction, and to play games both physical and digital. And I love to share my thoughts on everything I enjoy.

What is the purpose of A Thinker in Space?

I have been using this blog for years now, on and off, as a place to publish thoughts, musings, and reviews. It is a gateway to greater opportunity, and when I publish articles for other companies I will share them here, but mostly it is a sanctuary where I can share what is on my mind without having to fit a mold or a box. It is a place where I am the only one I am accountable for, and if I need a break, I take one. And it is a way to share what is going on in my own mind with the world, even if nobody is listening.

Why did I choose A Thinker in Space?

That is a very good question, and I have spent a fair amount of time deciding whether or not to keep it. I came up with the name for this blog many years ago, in high school. I love staring at the stars, and galaxies, planets, and the beauty of the cosmos inspires me. I felt at the time that, when looking at the sky, I was the closest to God. Now, I feel the same way looking into the eyes of my son. When reevaluating and restructuring this blog, I wondered if this was too self-serving, if I sought self-glorification in calling myself a “thinker”. But I came to the conclusion that it is still true to the feelings I have when writing – the idea that I am levitating in space, surrounded by my own thoughts, excited and energized about what I have to say. So A Thinker in Space has stuck, even in this new realm of adulthood.

A Note About the Amazon Affiliate Program

As I am often reviewing content such as novels, books, games, etc, I have become a member of the Amazon Affiliate program, allows me to earn a small portion from qualifying purchases. However, I will never embellish reviews in order to get a link clicked, and will always present my honest feelings about the content I am reviewing. It will not change anything that I do here, except making my links to Amazon a bit more official (though I have often used these to show my audience where they can buy the book/movie/game I am reviewing in the past!).
